Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is additional funding awarded by the government to help schools support pupils from low-income and other disadvantaged families. If a pupil has been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point over the past 6 years or has been looked after for one day or more (Child Looked After), the school receives an amount per head within their budget. A provision is also made for pupils who have a parent in the armed services.

The funding is used by the school to provide additional support to these pupils, this might be support with academics or to provide extra emotional or well-being support.

How do we spend our Pupil Premium funding?

Our Pupil Premium Strategy document (which can be accessed below) outlines how we have decided to use our funding and the rationale behind this.
