SIAMS Inspection
East Meon is a Church of England Primary School within the Portsmouth Diocese. Every five years, a church inspection is carried out. This is known as a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection. Our latest SIAMS inspection took place in June 2023 and the full report from this can be accessed below.
The inspection explores how effectively our Christian vision is established and promoted in order for all children at the school, regardless of faith, to flourish. The visit also specifically looks at how effective our collective worships are and how children learn in RE.
We are very proud of our report which highlights these key findings:
- The vision is embedded in the life of the school and shapes improvements.
- Significant improvements in collective worship ensure that it has an influential role in daily life, so all recognise the difference it makes.
- Inspired by the vision of caring for their community, leaders make bold decisions to create effective support to meet pupils’ diverse needs. This raises pupils’ aspirations and self-belief, so they flourish.
- Pupils enjoy the new approaches in religious education (RE) notably where they are encouraged to reflect on their own beliefs.
- Leaders are enthusiastic and dedicated to their role. They use the vision to drive improvements, seeking best practice.
