Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our number one priority at East Meon Primary School.

Miss Olver is our designated safeguarding lead (DSL) and Mrs Perkins is our deputy designated safeguarding lead (DDSL). They work closely together, meeting regularly to ensure that safeguarding remains a priority at the school.

As a school, we make sure that there is a trusting, open culture, where children feel safe to share their concerns and know they will be listened to. We expect all staff, governors and volunteers to maintain the attitude of 'it could happen here' and to be alert to any concerns. Safeguarding makes up part of our school curriculum and children are taught how to keep themselves and others safe and how to share any worries or concerns. We work closely with outside agencies such as Hampshire Children's Services and the NSPCC. All our staff and governors receive regular safeguarding training.

Policies

There are a number of policies which are relevant to safeguarding which are shared below. Our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies will be reviewed and updated in our next Governors meeting towards the end of September 2024.
